Here is a little 4 song EP by Eureka darlings – Buffy Swayze. Jesse P on vocals, Jimmy on bass, John M on guitar, and finally a sweet automated drummer to round things out. I haven’t heard this set of songs before, so I am posting this one first. More to come!
The Schmidtheads – Nightmare On 11th Street
So here is one I had never heard of. Coming straight to you from Justin’s crazy-big collection of Humboldt music. Perhaps he’ll have something to add. Anyhow, guessing late 80’s or early 90’s. Love the name of this record!
Nuisance – Humboldt County
Great pals to the south, Nuisance were majorly in the lexicon when I was hanging out. Everyone talking about how rad Nuisance was. Well – they were totally right. I started checking them out years ago when I still lived home and they really pushed the same buttons for me that The Replacements or Meat Puppets pushed. Good stuff!
The Hitch – 2001
Ok so you are in Humboldt and your roof is fucked up. You want the dudes who play this music to come fix it. That is a fact.
Whip ass with some metal y’all. The Hitch!
Eureka Garbage Company – 2004 Bummerfest EP
I used to really look forward to my trips to Eureka – especially because Eureka Garbage Company suffered from lack of a bass player for many years. This meant every time i showed up, we’d whip ass rehersing for a few days and bang out some show at the Vista or Shanty or wherever. Some of my favorite times playing back home were in this setup. Anyway, here is the 2004 Bummerfest EP. Good shit! And — HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS!
A Horrible New Year
CC put together a retrospective sometime in the late 90’s i think – limited CD release only. I have one of the covers somewhere or another around here, but i like the vibe of the master tape here. This is a pretty cool testament to the output of our old pal over the years. Pretty incredible really. Anyhow, without further ado:
121 Pounds of Humboldt County audio tape from the 1980’s to the 2010’s.
Sin Men – Live At Humboldt Brewery Late 1998
This is a promo CD from Jesse P’s collection. I think this was sent out to clubs and radio trying to drum up shows. This is a great representation of the Sin Men at the time. Big shout out to Benny for filling in all the titles!
Neptune Society – Live 4-track recording 06.21.1997
I don’t think this recording has ever seen the light of day. Scott says it is their last show but who the hell knows. Hoping McGonagle can put some song titles together i just can’t remember! This is one of the better Neptune Society recordings I have been able to find. I think this was recorded at Club West. Sounds like a big room. I am pretty sure this picture of Pesch is from this same show.
